Scottish Journal of Residential Child Care The Scottish Journal of Residential Child Care was first published in September 2002. As editor of the journal, my aim is to provide a forum for residential child care staff and other professionals to reflect on policy, practice, training and research in residential child care. The journal will maintain a practice focus and all papers are encouraged to examine and discuss implications for practitioners and the dissemination of best practice. By emphasising the links between policy, practice and research, the journal intends to promote and enhance the development of positive practice in residential child care. The journal, in particular, encourages papers from residential child care practitioners and also contributions from young people reflecting their experience of residential child care. It will be published twice a year and welcomes contributions in the form of research and practice papers, case studies, brief communications and correspondence from readers. Contact me if you have an idea for a paper or a shorter piece.
