SIRE Econometrics Workshops
for 2009-2010

 

This academic year, we will be running two SIRE Econometrics Workshops.

The first workshop  is scheduled for Friday 11 December, 2009. It will focus on panel data methods. The speakers will include Hashem Pesaran (Cambridge) who will talk on "Panel data estimation with weak and strong error cross section dependence" and Costas Meghir (UCL) on "Matching, sorting and wages". This workshop will be held at the University of Edinburgh. The local organizer is Andy Snell (A.J.Snell@ed.ac.uk). Full details can be found on the SIRE Future Events website.

The second of these is scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday 2 March, 2010. Confirmed speakers include John Geweke (University of Technology, Sydney) and Sylvia Fruhwirth-Schnatter (Johannes Kepler University). We will also have a Young Econometrician session containing 2 shorter seminar presentations. Joshua Chan (University of Queensland) and Deborah Gefang (Lancaster University) have agreed to participate in the Young Econometrician session. This workshop will be held at Strathclyde University.
