Industry Collaboration and Consultancy
We enjoy working with industrial partners and have a PhD project on
polymers running in collaboration with, and co-funded by, Solvay Composites
Group, based in Wilton.
Our research uses computer simulations to provide insight into material properties, with a focus on
solid-liquid interfaces, although the methods we use can be applied to many
systems. Some examples of properties we can calculate are:
- Crystal and molecular structures
- Polymer structure and dynamics
- Ferroelectricity (spontaneous polarisation)
- Vibrational spectra in molecules (IR and Raman)
- Adsorption structure and energetics
If you are from a different industrial sector and have a problem that you think
chemists of chemical engineers could help with then please do get in
touch by emailing chemeng-ke@strath.ac.uk
or visit our website for information on how to work
with us.
