I am currently Professor in the Dept. of Management Science, University of Strathclyde. My research interest lie in particular in the fields of integer programming, robust and network optimization, and their applications to problems such as production planning, airline scheduling and radiation treatment planning. For more details, see my Research Page for a full list of publications, pre- and post-prints.
I finished my PhD in 2007 at the Industrial Engineering department of University of Wisconsin-Madison, supervised by Andrew J. Miller. For a copy of my PhD thesis, please click here. Before moving to Glasgow in February 2010, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Melbourne, working with Natashia Boland and Mark Wallace.
I am originally from the beautiful city of Istanbul, but after 20 years there, I moved all around - first, I went to Ankara and finished my undergraduate there in Industrial Engineering at METU, meanwhile I also spent one year as an exchange student in Germany, at University of Paderborn, and then, I went to Madison before moving to Melbourne and finally to Glasgow. You can see my CV for a view of my journey so far.
