Our research focusses on bacterial gene regulation and genomics, particularly in organisms relevant to human health such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa (below) and certain strains of E. coli. We focus on the regulation of bacterial virulence factors and the stress responses that allow these organisms to survive inside the host.

We are based in a new building in central Glasgow which houses the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences.

Our laboratories are equipped with state of the art facilities for biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology and pharmaceutical research.
