Spreadsheet for a sustainability example
This Excel exercise examines sustainability viewed in terms of steady harvesting
of a renewable resource. It takes a fishery to exemplify such a resource.
The simulations examine how particular features of the biological growth
function (such as critical depensation, and random variability in growth
parameters) could cause the stock to be harvested to collapse.
The exercise uses many of the ideas developed in the Additional Materials
for Chapter 17; so you might want to look those over first, or revisit this
workbook later after having read Chapter 17.
