Cumbernauld is ideally
suited for access from all the major road networks in central Scotland.
Although we have a reputation for visiting teams getting lost in Cumbernauld,
if you follow these directions you should have no problems.
By Car
From Glasgow & South
- Leave
the M80 at Junction 4A (A8011/B8048) keeping in the far left exit lane so
that you merge onto the B8048 (NOT
the A8011 towards the Town Centre) signposted Kilsyth/Kirkintilloch.
- Continue
toward Back O'Hill Roundabout. Move over to the
middle or outside lane before reaching this roundabout.
- At
the Back O'Hill Roundabout, take the 2nd exit
onto the B8048.
- Before
reaching the Craiglinn Roundabout you should be
in the right hand lane (signposted as Craigmarloch
& Balloch) as the left lane becomes the slip
to Kirkintilloch.
- At
the Craiglinn Roundabout, take the 4th exit onto
the B802 (Signposted Craigmarloch, Balloch).
- At
the Balloch Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Eastfield Rd (Signposted Craigmarloch,
Westerwood & the Village).
- At
the Craigmarloch (Tesco) Roundabout take the 3rd
exit (Signposted Craighalbert Centre & Westerwood) to continue up the hill on Eastfield Rd.
- At
the Craighalbert Roundabout, take the 1st exit
onto Glen Fyne Rd (Signposted Craigmarloch) and in approximately 100m (at the postbox) turn right onto Glen Douglas Drive.
- Entrance
to the golf club is the first left turn.
If coming from Airdrie via the A73, at the Auchenkilns interchange go straight through both roundabouts (over the M80 Junction 5) following signs for Kirkintilloch B8048 then taking 3rd exit at Back O' Hill Roundabout then follow directions as above from the Craiglinn Roundabout.
From Stirling & Edinburgh
- Leave
the M80 at Junction 6 (A8011) signposted
Cumbernauld/Castlecary.
- On
the slip road stay in the right hand lane, at the traffic lights, you are
turning right under the M80.
- At
the Old Inns Roundabout take the 2nd exit (Signposted Craigmarloch
& Dullatur) onto Eastfield
Rd.
- At
the Westerwood Roundabout take the 2nd exit to
continue on Eastfield Rd, going straight through
at the miniroundabout halfway up the hill.
- At
the Dullatur Roundabout take the 2nd exit to
continue on Eastfield Rd.
- At
the Carrickstone Roundabout take the 2nd exit to
continue on Eastfield Rd.
- At
the Joint Campus School Roundabout take the 2nd exit to continue on Eastfield Rd.
- At
the Craighalbert roundabout take the 3rd exit (signposted Craigmarloch) on
to Glen Fyne Road and in approximately 100m (at
the postbox) turn right onto Glen Douglas Drive.
- Entrance
to the golf club is the first left turn.
For those with Sat Navs the address is 1a Glen Douglas Drive, Cumbernauld, G68 0DW
By Train
There is a regular
train service from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling to Croy
Station. From the station forecourt outside the booking office the 348/403 bus service will take you
to the bus stop on Glen Fyne Rd at the duck pond near
the junction with Glen Douglas Drive.
By Bus
It is strongly
recommended that if you are using public transport from outwith
the Cumbernauld area that you use the train. Otherwise the evening 403 bus service operates between the north town
centre bus stance and Croy Station via Craigmarloch, alight at the bus
stop beside the duck pond on Glen Fyne Road. The 1720
and 1750 First Glasgow X3 bus services from the Buchanan Street Bus Station
call at Craigmarloch, but there is no direct return
service, you would have to get the 403 Croy station bus to the Craiglinn
Interchange and swap to an X3A service bound for Glasgow.
